Job Description:

Camelot Education, a leader in providing special education services, is recruiting creative, compassionate and caring individuals to join our team. We are seeking a certified Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)  for Hoffman Estates Campus located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Hoffman Estates provides services for children, adolescents and young adults, ages 3 through 21. Our multi-needs program focuses on the development of functional life skills, with an emphasis on vocational programming. A multi-disciplinary team develops IEP goals based on data collection through informal and formal assessment results. Treatment plans are completely individualized and incorporate research-based strategies and therapies.

The Occupational Therapist will recommend appropriate occupational therapy interventions for students based on individual student needs. This position will also be responsible for incorporating these OT strategies into the students’ daily routine, creating sensory diets and training staff on administering a sensory diet when necessary.

Experience and Skills:

Education, experience and role qualifications for this position include:

  • Current Illinois Licensed  Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant 
  • Experience working with adolescents and children preferred
  • Experience working with student with autism or on the autism spectrum preferred
  • Experience working in non-public school programs preferred
  • General computer skills and proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and/or confidential information
  • Capable of leading meetings and preparing reports and/or planning documents
